The Thessaloniki Animation Festival needed a website that could capture the energy, creativity, and movement of the event itself. The goal was not simply to create a presentation website, but a vibrant digital hub for the festival, the Balkan Animation Forum, yearly archives, programs, submissions, and news, available in both Greek and English.
Solution
We developed a custom WordPress website with flexible content management and full bilingual support. The festival team can create rich pages, update festival content, manage previous editions, and publish submission information through a familiar admin interface without requiring technical assistance.

WEB DEVELOPMENT
We designed and developed Tafestival.gr as a flexible digital platform that evolves alongside the festival itself. The team can create new pages, organize the program, update previous editions, and easily customize the appearance of individual sections without requiring developer support.
Content Structure for TAF & BAF
The main festival and the Balkan Animation Forum each have their own dedicated content areas within the same website. Screenings, guests, discussions, and news are organized independently while remaining connected under the TAF brand, making content management simpler for the festival team.
Festival Archives by Year
Previous editions are presented through a structured archive featuring award winners, selected films, posters, and highlights organized by year. New visitors can explore the festival’s history, while returning audiences can easily revisit past editions.
Interactive Design & Animations
The website was designed with a strong focus on movement and interaction. Custom animations, scroll effects, and dynamic transitions bring the content to life, creating an experience that reflects the festival’s creative identity without compromising usability or performance.
Flexible Page Builder
We built reusable content sections that allow the team to create pages for programs, announcements, sponsors, open calls, and special campaigns. Every page can be adapted to the needs of each festival edition while maintaining a consistent TAF identity throughout the website.

The design embraces the spirit of animation: bold, playful, and full of movement. Strong typography, vibrant colors, poster-inspired layouts, and subtle animated details give the website a distinctive personality from the very first screen. The goal was to create a lively digital experience without distracting visitors from the festival’s content.
Animations and scroll effects guide visitors smoothly through rich program content, creating an engaging browsing experience. At the same time, the website remains easy to use on mobile devices, especially during the festival when visitors need quick access to schedules, news, and essential information.
